Princess party

Jourdyn had her 6 year-old  birthday party.  I made those tutu’s and hats for party presents.  Each guest had a solid color tutu and Jourdyn’s tutu was a rainbow of colors and glitter since she was the birthday girl.  Each girl got to take her tutu and hat home.  Her mom had it set up that they could decorate their own cupcakes.  A baker came over and brought all the supplies.  It was awesome!  She will remember this party forever.  I know I would if I were her.

I learned to make the tutu here: Crochet headband tutu tutorial. It is easy and there is no sewing.  You will not need a needle and thread at all.  You need 2 rolls of tulle to make one skirt..  Then use what you have left for the hats.

I found the party hats at Hobby Lobby and cut the tips off.   I tied a few strands of tulle together and tied a knot at one end.   I pulled the tulle through the new hole in the top of the hat.  The knot prevented it from pulling all the way through.

I love making special childhood memories.

One of the little party goers told me of  something I forgot.  She wanted to know where her wand was.    I  made cookies, shapes of a star, and found how to make a wand, but I ran out of time.  I made all those 5 tutus in one day.  It took all day.  I had to take some Alleve in the middle of the night because my forearm muscles were aching so much.  I should have made the star wands….  A little girl called me out.  She knew.  Wands were needed.
