We are at that point where we are trying to survive the hot days of Summer! 112 degrees the other day and several more 100+ days to follow.
We are playing “If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.”
I’ve put the current scarf I’m working on aside. I’ve come to a place in the pattern that doesn’t make any sense to me. We are also expecting a new grand-niece soon, so I’ve got to get a baby blanket done in the next few weeks.
Now that the kids are gone and we are empty nesters, I’ve decided to paint the bedrooms different colors. My husband is a retired Fire Fighter and he had an “off-duty” job of painting houses. He used to paint for Oklahoma University before he became a Fireman. He’s in a contest with himself to get the best paint job done. He is very good. There are tricks to the trade as in every profession. He can lay a super smooth line across the baseboards. (the secret is applying a thin line of caulk on top of the tape. When you remove the tape, it lays a perfectly straight line at the edge.)
So, we’ve been busy with babies and painting.
Len just got home with lunch and Luke is napping. Keep cool friends. That heat can be cruel!
Good morning! I’m still working on a few knit things that need to be finished, so I don’t have any show and tell for my knitting. I do want to point you over to my step-daughter’s, Bailey’s site, for these adorable leather accents she makes. I’m telling you this kid is so talented. Her creativity never ceases to amaze me. Above is how you find her on Facebook. She is under Moose Creek Boutique. It’s her online store out of Wyoming. Here are a few of her latest creations.
I love the floral one in the front!
She didn’t like her iWatch so she made herself one she likes.
Oh my gosh! Look how pretty! I love it. Now this one is my favorite!
This morning, I see she has made a little collar for a kitty.
How cute is that!?
I captured the cutest picture of Jourdyn, my granddaughter.
I sure do love this little girl. She will be artsy too. She loves to do crafts and paint. She was painting a little candle holder here and I asked her to turn around for a picture. This look is her turning around and thinking, “Not another picture Gugga, I’m busy”. But look at the love in her face she has for me! This little girl and me are like peanut butter and jelly, we just do well together.
We’re getting back some cute pics from our puppy owner’s. The chocolate pup on the left is an Aussiedoodle. The pups in the middle and on the right are Goldendoodles. They are so cute! I will own one myself one of these days. When Brodie is ready to retire. He’s got several more years though. Brodie, our Standard Poodle, is one of kind. I will for sure want one of his kiddos!
We’re going to the local pool park today with the grandkids. Hopefully, we won’t melt in the heat.
Have a great day!
I wanted to share our family’s favorite guacamole recipe. Lindy and I love this!
John’s birthday is July 4th. I made some cookies for him. I’m not perfect yet, but I’m getting better with practice!
I laugh. I’ve graduated from a 1st grader decorating cookies to maybe a 4th grade level now! Lauren helped. It’s fun to get the icing bags out and decorate.
Bailey made some super cute cookies recently. Check hers out!
She is so cute! Love her!
This is Trevor, Bailey’s husband, and Henry’s dad. Such good kids
Happy Knitting and Baking
I’ve started the Brahmin Moth Shawl. I need some constructive criticism. I don’t know if I like my colors. It reminds me of my high school colors. Every time I look at the scarf, I think of Putnam City North Panthers. I also think I’m being hypercritical.
I’ve only got one half of the scarf done. It requires another side, mirrored just like this one, with some work to attach the two together. I don’t know. I go back and forth thinking it’s really pretty and will look great in the fall with jeans to all I can think of is high school. What do you think?
See what I mean? I think I can get over it. It’s really a very beautiful scarf, is it not?
