“Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it does not hurt the untroubled spirit either.” – Elizabeth Zimmerman
Welcome!
You have found Tammy’s blog. Let me introduce myself. I am a cardiac Registered Nurse, mother, grandmother (Gugga), daughter, wife, and animal lover that LOVES to knit. Actually, I LOVE all things yarn!
My husband calls me a Slab Baby because I was born in the city (on concrete/slab) but have a farm girl soul. People have often used the word “real” to describe me. I think that is pretty accurate. I will talk about anything. I’m an open book. I am the daughter of Joy, from Joyful-Expressions blog – an amazing seamstress. If any of you know my mother, imagine her personality (perfectionist, highly intelligent, witty, funny, and a little controlling) combined with a genius, funny, free spirited, hippy, man-child and you have me – Tammy. (I know! What a combination! I have them all! Although, I’m not a genius.)
I am married to a retired Firefighter. We have 5 children between us and 4 grandchildren. We live in a suburb of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We breed Goldendoodles and Aussiedoodles . We have 5 dogs, several chickens, and one cat.
Let me tell you, I am not a crafty person. I do not have the attention span and I’m too much of a perfectionist. But, those knitting needles, and the tactile sensations of those soft, squishy, colorful yarns! Not to mention, I have an addictive personality. Give a person like me a hobby that actually puts you in a relaxing trance like state, releases feel good hormones, and BOOM!, I was hooked
This blog is for my love of yarn, knitting, yarn stores, fiber festivals, designers, projects, patterns, and life in general. I am a cardiac nurse and will be happy to share any of my knowledge and experience with you.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!
Tammy
