Brian and Buttercup

We have Goldendoodle puppies!  I want to share some cute pictures.  This little boy is my favorite!  They are all adorable cute puppies, but Brian has formed an attachment to me. I was trying to take some pictures to list them for sale and he would not leave my side long enough for me to get a snapshot.   I turned the lens around to get pics of him with me.

fullsizeoutput_3427

Look how sweet he is!  He is giving me a cuddle!  Unfortunately, it makes no sense for me to keep any of our pups.  My pets are his parents.  Here are a few more pics.,

fullsizeoutput_343f

This is Buttercup.  She is stunning!  She is so beautiful.

fullsizeoutput_3435

fullsizeoutput_343eLook at her coat.  It is so thick and curly.  Her mother, Sandy, could have been a show dog.  She is really pretty.  Our vet tells us so :-).  Our vet gets down on the floor and cuddles Sandy and pours out compliments to her.  Buttercup takes after her mother.

We also have a few black Goldendoodles, but they are hard to photograph at times.

fullsizeoutput_341a

The black Goldendoodles have such silky curls.  The creams ones are more like cotton fluff and the black pups have silky curly coats.

If you’ve stuck with me thru the adorable puppy pictures, I have one more thing to show you.   My step-daughter, Bailey, is super creative and talented.  She made me a logo for “Achickthatknitz”.     What do you think?   It’s me.

She actually started custom making these.  She will work with you to make a logo.  I’m so impressed with her talent.

Happy Thanksgiving !

George

Good Morning!  Fall has finally arrived here in Oklahoma.  I would like to introduce our newest family member, George, shown here with Luke.

fullsizeoutput_28be

George is a Standard Poodle.  He will, one day, be the new dad to our Goldendoodles.

fullsizeoutput_2907

Luke and I are playing with our neighbors here.  I wanted to show you Max.  Do you see where he is?   That cat!  He is so wonderfully weird!  I love him so!  He will sit in the stroller and take a walk with me and Luke.   Max loves this family.  He is often found hanging out with them.

fullsizeoutput_28c9

We drove to Missouri to get George.  He sat on my lap for the entire four hour trip!

I’m going to give a little dog advise.  When you are thinking of buying a dog, especially an expensive one, you need to pay attention to the parents.  Personalities and temperaments are passed down to the pups.  If you want to know what kind of puppy you are getting, pay attention to the parents!

Stitch Markers!

fullsizeoutput_28eb

I was really excited to show you all something neat I had discovered to save you all some money!   Turns out, I have no idea what I’m talking about.  Do you see the little tin with the gold metal stitch markers?  I bought a little bag online at a knitting store and paid about $9.00 for them.   I’ve tried all kinds of different stitch markers and these are my favorites.    I’ve been shopping in the bead/jewelry isle at the craft stores and found these metal colored rings for $2.99 (half price days $1.50).    The green and purple rings I found at a bead store in Colorado, they are the $3.50 ones.

I get really excited when I find great deals.  I thought I had discovered a knit hack and wanted to share with everybody.

I tried to find the website I purchased my $9 stitch markers and found them on KnitPicks for $1.99 for 100 of them!   WHAT!?!?!   How did I not find these before?  They are even cheaper than my great find.

Well, if you want a variety of colors with your stitch markers at an affordable price, go shop at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.  They have lots of different sizes and colors in the jewelry/bead isles.

Here’s a quick peek at my current knitting project.   It’s my road trip project to Wyoming.  I’m almost done.  I fear I’m going to run out of the brown color for the last stripe!  I’m just going to use a different brown if I run out.  It’s a shawl if you can’t tell.  I will show you all soon when it’s done.

Leather Accents

Good morning!  I’m still working on a few knit things that need to be finished, so I don’t have any show and tell for my knitting.  I do want to point you over to my step-daughter’s, Bailey’s site, for these adorable leather accents she makes.  I’m telling you this kid is so talented.  Her creativity never ceases to amaze me.  Above is how you find her on Facebook.    She is under Moose Creek Boutique.  It’s her online store out of Wyoming.  Here are a few of her latest creations.

I love the floral one in the front!

She didn’t like her iWatch so she made herself one she likes.

Oh my gosh! Look how pretty! I love it. Now this one is my favorite!

This morning, I see she has made a little collar for a kitty.

How cute is that!?

I captured the cutest picture of Jourdyn, my granddaughter.

fullsizeoutput_2393

I sure do love this little girl.  She will be artsy too.  She loves to do crafts and paint.  She was painting a little candle holder here and I asked her to turn around for a picture.  This look is her turning around and thinking, “Not another picture Gugga, I’m busy”.  But look at the love in her face she has for me!  This little girl and me are like peanut butter and jelly, we just do well together.

We’re getting back some cute pics from our puppy owner’s.  The chocolate pup on the left is an Aussiedoodle.  The pups in the middle and on the right are Goldendoodles.  They are so cute!  I will own one myself one of these days.  When Brodie is ready to retire.  He’s got several more years though.  Brodie, our Standard Poodle, is one of kind.  I will for sure want one of his kiddos!

We’re going to the local pool park today with the grandkids.  Hopefully, we won’t melt in the heat.

Have a great day!

Beautiful Days

fullsizeoutput_f18

Do you remember being this young and carefree?  I remember playing pretend and being the female hero of my time.  Back then, it was Charlie’s Angels.  My two playmates, Chris and Jana, that were my neighbors, would pretend to be Charlie’s Angels and solve crimes and put the bad guy away.

This is my real life super hero.  This is Lindy my daughter.  She just got her acceptance letter to nursing school.  She has worked so hard and has done so well.  I’m glad to see all her hard work pay off!  Look at that smile!  So stinking CUTE!

I found this neighbor in my front yard today.  A lady down the street owns it.   It’s not the first time he’s gotten out.  It’s such pretty fall weather.  I don’t blame him for wanting some long walks around the hood.

Max, playing with the puppies.

We all came out for some play time with the neighbors.  That baby girl there abosultely loves these puppies.  She was laying down with one drapped across her neck and the pup was asleep.

I made a super warm and comfy cowl, but it was liked so well by the recipient, that it flew out the door before I could take a picture.  That happens sometimes.  I’m working on some baby tops for now.

Season of the Cowl

Len and Bailey in her hometown of Wyoming.

This is my husband, Len, and his daughter, Bailey.   She is pregnant with her first, a boy named Henry.   I made her the red cabled baby blanket, as pictured in my last post.  I also made her a cowl to match.  Her cowl is the “GAP-tastic Cowl” which you can find on Ravelry.  It’s basically just a seed stitch pattern.  Both yarns are from Plymouth Yarn Co.  The baby blanket is Encore Chunky and the cowl is Baby Alpaca Grande.

Grey Cabled Baby Blanket with Goldendoodle pups.

This is one of the baby blankets I made in a different yarn that is the same as the red baby blanket in my previous post.  See, it’s super pretty in any yarn!  Our Goldendoodles are growing so fast.  They are adorable!

Back to the cowls….

Len is in Wyoming and I didn’t have anyone to help with pics.   You can still see the cuteness of the cowl.   I had some yarn left over so I made a hat to match.  I had to be creative because I had little of the cream left and more of the variegated color.  It’s not an exact match, but it still goes together.  I made the pompom with my hand.  No tools used at all.  (Big pat on my back here). The hat pattern is from the “Chunky Beanie” by NatHipKnits on Ravelry.

Max loves all my knits.  It’s so cute.  Len is retired and home all the time.  Max is used to having someone here.   He doesn’t like to be alone and he’s always with someone, regardless of what we are doing.   I was doing some chores the other day, in particular, laundry.  I was going from room to room putting away the laundry and when he would notice I had left the room, he would meow.  I would holler, “I’m in here Max.” and you could hear the frantic pitter patter of his paws racing to find me.  It was so funny.   We did this from room to room while doing my chores.  Cracked me up!

This is my daughter, Lindy.  This is several years ago.  I think she was 17 here.  She will be 21 this December.  She is wearing the “Drop Stitch Cowl” by Abi Gregorio.  She gets tons of compliments on this when she wears it.  I bought some super chunky yarn from Tuesday Morning for this.

I miss my man so much!  Eagerly awaiting his return home.

Babies Everywhere

Hot off my needles is the Reversible Cable Blanket.  I love this blanket.  This is the fourth one I’ve made.  No matter what yarn you choose, they all look stunning.  I’ve used Simply Soft from Hobby Lobby, and 100% acrylic I Love This Yarn, and most recently Plymouth Yarn; Encore Chunky Tweed.  If you’re using it for a baby blanket, it needs to be washer/dryer friendly.  We all know how messy those wee little ones can be!

4 week old Goldendoodle puppy

The most accurate picture of the red color is the one here with Max on my lap.  It’s a deep rich burgundy red, not neon pink/red.  This is for our new grandson, Henry, that lives in Wyoming.

Played outside with the Goldendoodle puppies today.  They are still little babies.  They’ve just started to act like little puppies, growling, barking, chewing each other.  They are still a little shy and learning about the big new world of the back yard.  Only two more weeks and they will be ready to go.  A new momma came by today to see her petite little baby girl

My Mom – Joyful-Expressions blog.

I want to say “Hello” to all my new followers from my mom’s blog, Joyful Expressions.  Getting high praises from my mom is a BIG deal!

I was looking through some photos and had to share some fun pictures.  My mother has always sewn, as long as I can remember.  She used to make  me scrubs to wear to the hospital for work.  Back then, I didn’t have a specific colored uniform and could wear whatever I wanted, otherwise,  I bet she would still be making me scrubs.  My mom loves prints and you can do a lot of fun prints with scrubs.

Here is a cute picture of some outfits my mom made for my boys, John and Jacob.  This photo is from 23 years ago!  It’s summer and I’m pretty sure she made this for July 4th.  I like they have the same theme and colors, but still unique for each boy.

IMG_1626

Here is the quilt she made me.  We have a chicken coop with chickens and lots of fresh eggs.  Mom made me a chicken quilt.  Isn’t it pretty.  For you quilters, check out the feathered stitching pattern on the quilt.  You can see it well around the center chicken.  It’s hanging on the wall in our sunroom.

IMG_3202

This is one of my favorites too.  My husband, Len, is a retired Fire Fighter.  She made this for our first grandson, Xander.   Here is Max, of course.  He is always around in everybody’s business.

We had a GREAT day yesterday and welcomed 11 new puppies from Crystal.

IMG_3226

Here are some of our pups that have grown up.  You may remember Mom’s dogs, Jackie and Josie.   They were some of our Goldendoodles.

We get tons of compliments on our dogs.  It has a lot to do with their DNA and great parents.  I like to think those puppies are imprinted with the magic and love that is our home and it cements all the ingredients for a great dog.

Have a blessed day!
