How about a little trip to Wyoming today? We are visiting our daughter, Bailey, Trevor, and Henry in Wyoming. We are in a pocket of paradise here. We’re in a small farming town, the closest metro being 2 1/2 hours away. We’re enjoying the heck out of Henry. Len also likes to help Bailey with projects around the house, so were doing some of that too.
I’ve been taking Henry for walks down this little country dirt road behind a corn field. One side is solid corn and the other is a field full of cows. I’m sure nobody ever walks down this road! I’ve seen the cows for 4 walks now. They lift their heads, stare at us, moo a little bit, and that’s our walk. Yesterday, I guess the cows got curious enough that they all came running over to see us.
Imagine a huge herd of cows running over to you. They have a little hot wire fence so the cows don’t stray. I was so worried the cows were going to try and get through the hot wire to get to us, and they were all going to get shocked. I guess they are familiar already with the fence as they stopped right at it.
Look how cute they are! They were all squeezing in to get a good look at us.
These momma’s and their kids were checking out this grandma and her grandkid. It was pretty neat. I’m a city girl remember. This is a real treat for me.

They have all kinds of water collected from the snow coming from the mountains. It’s beautiful fertile ground here.
We stopped at The Big Texan on our way to Wyoming. It’s in Amarillo, Texas. Have you seen the movie, “The Guilt Trip” with Seth Rogan and Barbara Streisand? It’s about a road trip with a son and his mother. They have a scene where they stop at The Big Texan and Barbara Streisand’s character eats a free 72 oz steak dinner. This is the place. The staff wear cowboy hats and there is a singing cowboy that goes around and sings to your table. I had a wonderful prime rib lunch for $14.00. This will be our stopping place from now one.
Happy Knitting friends.
I have road trip project I’m working on. I’ll show you soon. It’s a shawl.

Whatcha think? I’m happy with it. My primary goal is to use yarn from my stash. I think I will get a lot of use out of this in the Fall. It’s made from Cascade 220 yarn. I’m a primarily jeans type of girl and this will go great with jeans.
I think this celery green color will look better in the Fall. Currently it’s steamy hot, smack dab in the middle of Summer!
Soooo much green!
I love these buttons. I got them in an assortment from Amazon.
Max is an indoor/outdoor cat. We hang outside a lot and Max insists on being where we are. Sometimes, he will be indoors and just lay in the windows close to wherever we are on the patios. Well, he has been staying out longer and longer. I used to call for him whenever it was time for bed, and he would come running home, and run to the bedroom for bedtime. We always played catch the finger under the covers before bedtime. It was his favorite game. Not anymore. He was gone for 2 days recently. We were so worried. Don’t forget, he recently had a BB we had to get removed from him getting shot.
I’ve tried to keep him inside. Yesterday, I was sitting outside the patio door and Max wanted out so badly, he jumped through the screen door. He went right through it! He was just hanging there, caught in the hole he created, diving straight through the screen! What’s a cat mom to do?
This isn’t Max, but it looked just like this. Silly kitty was just hanging there in his hole he made jumping thru the screen door to get outside.
We had the grandkids this weekend. Xander and Jourdyn come walking into the sunroom looking for Max to play with. These cool kids even have a little laser pen to play with. Why on earth would Max not want to come home?
What kitty cat on earth would want to be gone from these two?
I love this picture! Those expressions! She captured them well!
Have a good week friends.
Do you remember being this young and carefree? I remember playing pretend and being the female hero of my time. Back then, it was Charlie’s Angels. My two playmates, Chris and Jana, that were my neighbors, would pretend to be Charlie’s Angels and solve crimes and put the bad guy away.
Jourdyn playing in her WonderWoman costume.
This is my real life super hero. This is Lindy my daughter. She just got her acceptance letter to nursing school. She has worked so hard and has done so well. I’m glad to see all her hard work pay off! Look at that smile! So stinking CUTE!
I found this neighbor in my front yard today. A lady down the street owns it. It’s not the first time he’s gotten out. It’s such pretty fall weather. I don’t blame him for wanting some long walks around the hood.
Max, playing with the puppies.
We all came out for some play time with the neighbors. That baby girl there abosultely loves these puppies. She was laying down with one drapped across her neck and the pup was asleep.
I made a super warm and comfy cowl, but it was liked so well by the recipient, that it flew out the door before I could take a picture. That happens sometimes. I’m working on some baby tops for now.
