Lauren and I finished our The Weekender top by Andrea Mowry. I used our color-way Rocky Mountains and Lauren used Paris.
Lauren may actually kill me for posting these pictures, some are not flattering. I like them because they show the fun love Lauren and I have for each other.
I needed a haircut. My bangs were in my face and frustrating. I tend to be that person that cuts my own hair and horribly messes it up. I was proud of myself for superman like strength in restraining myself from taking the scissors to my bangs the day before a trunk show! Now that the trunk show is over, I’ve cut my bangs and should have done it then!
I don’t remember what we were talking about here, but the look on our faces is funny. I want to say Lauren smelled something bad and was asking me if I “did it.”.
Apparently, it was really funny!
Lauren and I have such fun the in dye studio. I feel so blessed.
The Weekender is a great easy knit. My size actually fits Lauren better and Lauren’s size fits me better. We tried to trade sweaters, but we each loved our own version and yarn choices better so we stuck with our own projects.
Lauren recently made “Angel Fire” and I can’t wait to see this knit up!
I’m off to dye up some yarn to fulfill some orders. Have a great day and Happy Holidays!
I wanted to show off some new shawls that my sister-in-law, Christine, made out of my yarn. This shawl is called “Debut” and you can find it here – “Debut”
The colors are Pink, Circus, and a blue I made special for her.
Isn’t it pretty.
This is another “Debut” shawl in different colors. She is an amazing crocheter and has just recently learned to knit. She is a beginner knitter. Look what you can do as a beginner. She did amazing!
Well done Christine! Well done.
If you are inspired to cast on, come check out the online shop – A Chick That Knitz

My yarn is also available at David’s Yarn shop in Edmond, OK in case you are near and want to come pick out some colors in person.
I’ve finally finished an official “Fade” type pattern! Yay me! I’ve made a fade type shawl with my previous shawl “Dotted Rays” by Stephen West. I was creative and made the Fade on my own. This is “Free Your Fade” by Andrea Mowry. It’s an easy knit. Guess what? I made it with my own hand dyed yarn! Yay me again!
This takes 3 skeins of yarn in different color combinations. I made this in my Fingering Singles yarn in Pink, Circus, and Lake House. I’m going to make a moody, dark one next.
I’m working every day on my new hand dyed yarn business. Currently, I’m stocking my “store” on Etsy. You are sure to find me under “A chick that knitz.” I’ve got 27 different color ways listed. I have about 50 total to load. Once I have all my colors listed, I’m going to have a grand opening sale and everything will be 30% off for the opening. So go look around if you would like, but remember to wait for the official opening for 30% off everything! I love a good sale! (It’s taken me a week to photograph and load 27 colors, it may take another week to load the rest).
I will also have my own “shop” on the web. I will get that up and running once I’ve loaded up Etsy. Since I’m brand spanking new with my yarn business, I figured that would help introduce my yarn to people.
It Spring Y’all! Yay! My nose sure knows! I’m allergic to cedar and every other kind of tree known to mankind. I’m basically allergic to March. I don’t know how they work, but I have a Himalayan Salt Lamp near my bed and it helps with my allergies. It doesn’t cure them, but it helps. I notice a difference when I don’t have it on anyway.
Max enjoying the long grass before Len gets the mower out for the first time this season.
I’m in-between projects right now. My fingers are itching to work on something! I’m looking for a particular project. When I officially open my store and have the grand opening, I’m going to do a “KAL. Knit-a-Long” and I’m looking for that project. I want to showcase my yarns and showcase a Fade type pattern.

I finished my road trip project! It’s the The Coastal Walk by Joji Locatelli
Max is such a mess! What a personality!
I don’t pose him. All these pics are Max joining in of his own free will.
Since I left the nursing business, I’ve been working on my wardrobe. I’ve lost half of everything I wear by removing my scrubs out of my closet. I don’t watch the Kardashian’s very much, but occasionally, I will land on their show and watch for old times sake. (I liked them in the beginning before they were famous and more normal) I noticed the Kardashian girls often hang out in their closets. They organize their clothes by color. Lauren told me she does the same with her clothes. ( I organized by style, camisoles, tank tops, short sleeves, long sleeves, etc) I reorganized my closet by color. Interesting. By doing this, I learned that I had nothing yellow at all!
I have a ton of navy blue! My scrubs were navy blue! My jeans are all various shades of blue! I also reorganized my yarn and I don’t have any yellow yarn.
What?! How did this happen? I look good in yellow. Actually, I had one yellow lace cardigan and whenever I wear it, I get tons of compliments. So, I’ve been on a yellow binge lately. I’ve even been trying to add more yellow to my flower gardens.
One of the trends now-a-days, is florals. I’m a teenager of the 80’s. Florals were huge in the 80’s. They’re back! Much to my pleasure. I’ve been adding several floral dresses to my wardrobe. They are sundresses. Now I need some light cardigans and shawls.
Here are two recent purchases. Both florals. Won’t my new Yellow Coastal look cute with that blue dress!
And…..I finished my Om Shawl by Andra Mowry. That’s for the next blog post!
LOVE the little wooden buttons I found! I bought a box of wooden buttons from Amazon.
