Brioche Tiles

IMG_0670

Lauren made this GORGEOUS shawl by Susanne Sommer of SuSo Knits. It’s called Brioche Tiles.  It is so pretty!  She did a fabulous job!  I’m so proud of her.  Brioche is a little challenging.  Once you get it down, you’ve got it.   This project is not mindless knitting.  You do need to pay attention to it, but, it is well worth the time!

We have the Nightingale Kit on sale.  It has the 3 skeins of yarn to make this beauty!  I am so proud of her!  She did a fantastic job!  It’s stunning.

David’s Yarn in Edmond, OK had a little Halloween party.  This is Pixie (the blonde) and her best friend, Lydia (the red head).  They are the characters, angel and demon, from “Good Omens”.   I thought they looked great.

This is a beautiful shawl in our color-way “Fern”.  I don’t know the name of this pattern.  If you are interested in it, let me know , and I will find out for you.

I’m off to list some new shawl cuffs in the shop.  They are so popular, they sell fast.

It’s cold and wet here in Oklahoma.  My husband is lighting the fireplace now.  Maybe some hot chocolate later… We put Kahlua in our hot chocolate.  Try it.  It’s delicious!

Happy Knitting,

Tammy

I am so proud and honored to show off my step-daughter’s custom made Shawl Cuffs.  Bailey is an incredibly talented artist.   She does custom leather work for all kinds of accessories.  She is even making custom leather shoes now!

Bailey came to visit this summer and she set up her work shop in A Chick That Knitz studio and she generously made me these shawl cuffs while she was here.  They are so cute!

I am so happy to tell you that A Chick That Knitz is doing very well!  God is so good.  I never would have imagined that I would have an art studio and have my own hand-dyed  yarn business!  I get to play every single day.  I get to meet amazing people.  I have many things to be grateful for but I am so grateful every day I wake up that I get to do this!

My maiden name is Dyer.  My name literally means “Perfect Joyful Dyer”.  I was born to do this!   My father loved to color.  I spent hours laying on the floor with him, with gel pens surrounding us, coloring Mandala’s.  This is a Mandala.Screen Shot 2019-07-21 at 10.00.35 AM.png

My mother trained me to be ….exceptional in service.  My father was the artsy dreamer and my mother the intelligent, hard working, perfectionist.

This is our Woodland Kit collection.  Isn’t it beautiful.  Lauren created the two on the left and I created the one the right.   God has given me three beautiful daughters, Lauren is my daughter-in-law , Bailey is my step-daughter, and Lindy is my daughter.   Lauren and Lindy both help me in the studio.  Lauren helps me every day in the studio.  She is the other “Chick That Knitz’.  Lindy pops in occasionally and gifts us her unique artistic abilities.

I feel that I have so much love and gratefulness that it pours into A Chick That Knitz.  If you sit for a bit at the yarn store and watch the customers come in and spot my yarn, you will hear a “gasp” of “Wow, how pretty”.   Pixie told me my yarn makes people happy.  (All yarn makes fiber enthusiasts happy.).  A compliment like that means the world to me!  That’s exactly what I want to hear!

My personality type is an INFJ or also known as an Empath.  We are sensitive people to other’s energy.  We can spot an underdog a mile away.  We are lovers of people and animals.  Compassion and Empathy are our superpowers.  When I can make someone happy by providing a soft squishy handful of softness with beautiful colors that emit emotion, I am in heaven!

Look at this beauty!!!  Lauren made this!   Lauren is a lot like me.  We have very similar personalities.  She gets as much joy from this as I do!  When we create a magical “yarn baby” like this one, you will see us dancing with joy and squealing with delight (no kidding).  We absolutely LOVE what we do!  This color-way is called “Colors of the Wind”.

Enjoy your day friends!  Share some light, love, and laughter today with someone.  Trust me, you will reap the benefits!

Much love,

Tammy,

A Chick That Knitz
