Poncho’s and a SALE!

Hello friends!  How are you doing on this beautiful Spring day?   I wanted to show off Lauren’s poncho.   She made it a while ago and wore it to a Christmas party.  I wanted to show that we actually do wear all the things we knit.  Actually, Lauren crocheted this!   This is crochet!

Ponchos were popular in the 70’s.  Remember the little balls on the ends of the ties?  Some had tassels.  Ponchos, halter tops, wedge shoes….love the 70’s!  I cannot tell you enough how happy I am that the younger generation likes ponchos now!  Lauren is 26 and ROCKING IT!

Since Lauren made this, I don’t know what the pattern is called.  If you want to know, comment, and I will ask.  You may go look on Ravelry and check out ponchos.

I’ve been working on loading up my Etsy store.  Here are some of the many yarns I’ve listed.  I have 69 different color-ways listed and have about 30 more to list to be done.Screen Shot 2019-04-09 at 1.04.00 PM

I’m going to have a Grand Opening Sale this coming weekend!  All items will be 30% off.  That includes any kits I’ve made.   The kits listed are discounted anyway because you are purchasing more than one skein of yarn.   The kits on sale is a super deal!  I mean SUPER deal!

The sale will start on Friday at 6pm and run through Sunday at 6pm.  I’m going to post a video on YouTube to announce the sale.   Go ahead and browse the shop if you would like and be sure to favorite what you like.    That will help me make sure I have enough yarn for everybody and you won’t have to wait for me to make it in case it sells out.

I’ve just returned from DFW Fiber festival.  I came home confident in my yarn!  Very confident!  My husband said, “Tammy, your yarn is prettier than a lot of yarn here at this convention.”  I have to agree.    I’m going to work hard so that I can present my own shop at DFW Fiber Festival next year!

Have a great day friends and hope to see you at the sale this weekend!

Happy Knitting,

Tammy

Whatcha think?  I’m happy with it.  My primary goal is to use yarn from my stash.  I think I will get a lot of use out of this in the Fall.  It’s made from Cascade 220 yarn.  I’m a primarily jeans type of girl and this will go great with jeans.

I think this celery green color will look better in the Fall.  Currently it’s steamy hot, smack dab in the middle of Summer!

Soooo much green!

I love these buttons.  I got them in an assortment from Amazon.

Max is an indoor/outdoor cat.  We hang outside a lot and Max insists on being where we are.  Sometimes, he will be indoors and just lay in the windows close to wherever we are on the patios.  Well, he has been staying out longer and longer.  I used to call for him whenever it was time for bed, and he would come running home, and run to the bedroom for bedtime.  We always played catch the finger under the covers before bedtime.  It was his favorite game.   Not anymore.  He was gone for 2 days recently.  We were so worried.  Don’t forget, he recently had a BB we had to get removed from him getting shot.

I’ve tried to keep him inside.  Yesterday, I was sitting outside the patio door and Max wanted out so badly, he jumped through the screen door.  He went right through it!  He was just hanging there, caught in the hole he created, diving straight through the screen!  What’s a cat mom to do?

This isn’t Max, but it looked just like this.  Silly kitty was just hanging there in his hole he made jumping thru the screen door to get outside.

We had the grandkids this weekend.    Xander and Jourdyn come walking into the sunroom looking for Max to play with.  These cool kids even have a little laser pen to play with.   Why on earth would Max not want to come home?

What kitty cat on earth would want to be gone from these two?

I love this picture!  Those expressions!  She captured them well!

Have a good week friends.

Cowl days

Lauren and Lindy, my daughters, wearing their cowls today.

Lauren is 9 months pregnant here!  You can hardly tell in this photo.  At the weekly doctor check, we’ve found out Luke is full term and can arrive any day now.  He is officially due on Nov 15, but he’s ready any time.  We can’t wait to meet the little guy!  He’s already loved so much!

Lindy is modeling the cowl I just finished for Bailey.  I’m going to make a matching hat and maybe some gloves too, if I have enough yarn.   I made one for Lindy too, but she took it home already.  Her cowl was white on the outside with a variegated blue for the inner stripe.  Lauren and Lindy are wearing the same cowl, it’s just in different yarns/colors.  It’s super easy, add on 90-120 stitches and it’s knit 1 purl 1 ribbing.  12 stripes of main color, then 6 stripes of alternating colors, then 6-9 rows of  contrast color, then 6 stripes of alternating color, then finish with 12 stripes of main color.

Bailey, with Henry, in Wyoming.

This is Len’s beautiful daughter, Bailey, who lives in Wyoming.  I just noticed uploading this photo that I made her those boot toppers too.    I gave them to her at her wedding and there was so much commotion that I wondered if she ever actually got them.  Apparently she did!  Cool!  I made her an Alpaca Cowl of ivory and her kitty cat had a litter of kittens in her scarf basket.   I made her this red one to replace it.  It’s the Gap-tastic Cowl on Ravelry.   It’s just a seed stitch pattern throughout, easy.

Lauren just finished this poncho.  This is Crochet!  Isn’t it pretty!?  I absolutely LOVE that poncho’s are back in style!  I’m a child from the 70’s, so I’m poncho friendly!  I wore one today for grocery shopping at Target today.  LOVE them!

I got in on the fun too!

Gourmet Yarn Co last SALE day is tomorrow.  50% off all yarn 75% off needles and accessories.   I believe it’s the very last day they will be in business.   Have fun stocking up!  They still have a lot of yarn.   It will be worth the trip.   That Alpaca yarn sure is costly.   Those Alpaca cowls are $60 worth of yarn alone.  I think I’ll stock up on a bit more.
