My name is Tammy and I am the founder of A Chick That Knitz. Welcome.
I am a retired cardiac nurse that started hand-dyeing yarn in 2019 as a hobby and a way for my husband and I to travel the country.
What an adventure this has been! I started out of my house; opened a beautiful, well loved local yarn store; went back to my house, and now have settled into a lovely intimate yarn studio in Edmond, Oklahoma.
My team now consists of Rebekah, Annie, and Hailey. We love yarn as much as you and take great joy in your creative adventures.

This yarn worked up beautifully. The yarn is very soft. I doubled two strands to give a more variegated effect and I love the final product. It captures “hibernation” perfectly, but the yarn is more brown than black which I didn’t expect. Also, the dye didn’t run at all (no stains on my hands) during the knitting process which was appreciated.
I didn’t even know I needed them. Love using them on my short DPNs to turn them into tiny straights for small projects! Functional and cute

I bought this sock yarn to make doll faces (an off-label use, I’ll bet, lol). The color and sheen it creates as I knit it up is just lovely. My dolls will have terrific tone and “personality”. I think the yarn would work well for socks, too 😉
